July 2022: This Town is Nuts, My Kind of Place

“Eat, drink, and celebrate everything in Nashville.”

I was lucky enough to have my brother and his family come visit me in Nashville over the 4th of July and it was such a blast. Sometimes we don’t realize how much is going on in this city until we have visitors but there’s a certain excitement in the air that comes with living here. It’s a faster pace than most southern cities but still maintains that welcoming hospitality and laid-back energy. Where natives & transplants can mingle alike, and the smaller community is a hub to so many creative types providing the perfect canvas of possibility that few other places possess. Even though this city has grown and a lot has changed over the last decade, you can still be anywhere in 15 minutes (25 during peak traffic times), sorry Atlanta! The vibrance, restaurant scene, and the magical music moments that wouldn’t happen anywhere else are just a few of the reasons of why I love living here and am so proud to show this city off to family and friends.

Youthful Bliss

“Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.”

-Walt Disney

I don’t have kids but I do have 3 teenage nieces and whenever I’m lucky enough to get to spend time with them, I’m reminded of what I was like when I was their ages. Childhood years feel so much longer than adulthood has because you’re experiencing so much for the first time in a short window. You grow more accustomed to change as time goes on and recognize when it’s happening and know how to adapt but what we’re all so envious of kids because of how much simpler life is when we’re young. You’re allowed to make mistakes, almost encouraged to, because it’s the only way you learn. Kids also don’t take things so seriously, which is so important to remember. We may age and change but in our minds, we’re always looking through the same lens and trying to tap into those joyful moments that make us feel alive and young again.
