June 2022: Nobody Panic

“Take a deep breath, and relax, it’s all going to turn out better than you expected.”

I feel like the media has been calling for Doomsday a lot in recent years. It seems like no matter what, the present is always a rollercoaster and then when you look back, it wasn’t all that bad. I was fresh out of college and not in the workforce during the last recession so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I have experienced enough stress to know that living in fear over conditions out of your control doesn’t do anybody any good. The sun will rise tomorrow and there will be good days and bad. Optimism, persistence, and consistency are the keys to survival in any environment. The tides may be forever changing but don’t let your outlook be.

Out in the Country

4. “Knowledge and power in the city; peace and decency in the country.”

– Mason Cooley

I’m a city boy, through and through, but last weekend I took a trip out to Pleasant Shade, TN for a weekend in the country and have felt very rejuvenated this week. I love the excitement of a city like Nashville but a break from the noise can be much needed and welcomed. Hiking, taking in the scenery, and enjoying the quiet is good for the soul and the older I get, the more I appreciate moments of serenity. I’ve also noticed that when you’ve recently experienced a calm state of mind, it’s much easier to tap into it when you find yourself back in stressful situations. Point being, it’s important to take time outside of your bubble, turn off, and recharge. Summer can be hard with weddings, travel, and social obligations so don’t forget to schedule it in advance!

Summertime is When Memories are Made

“Summer is when laziness finds respectability”

-Sam Keen

While it’s important to find down time, don’t let the heat inhibit you from making the most of the summer months. We daydream about all that we’re going to do when we’re holed up in January and now, we’ve made it. Life is short. Block out the noise and go enjoy yourselves. Thanks for reading as always!

Pros to Summer: Longer Days, More Outdoor Activity, Vitamin D, Healthier, More Physically Active, Concerts, Events, Cookouts, Vacations/Travel, Time with Friends/Family/Loved Ones, Fresh Fruit, Vegetable Gardens, Good Vibes.
