Whit’s Nashville: December 2024 Christmas Miracles “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”– Edward Pola and George Wyle

What a year, what a holiday. As the years go by, the more I appreciate the moment and the preparation that goes into making everything happen. It’s no small effort tying up loose ends for the year, decorating, gifting, meal prepping, and having the kids home from school for 2 weeks. But when the work is done and can you sit back and relax, it’s pretty special. It’s also a miracle that we’ve made it this far and have the holidays to give thanks to what may seem inconsequential, but in reality, is monumental. Reflecting on the challenges and successes of the year and how hard it was to get to this very moment to take a breath and bask in the rewards. Thinking about what lay ahead in the coming year, but knowing we’re better equipped to take on the excitement of the unknown.

Be a Little Kinder, Partake in the Holiday Cheer

“Remember this December, that love weighs more than gold”

–Josephine Dodge Daskam Bacon

I’m currently reading How to Win Friends and Influence People and I’m noticing when interactions with people who are impolite, and rather than reacting, I’m trying to dial it back, make eye contact, and kill them with kindness. In response, they usually change their tone by the end of the encounter, and I feel better knowing that I did my best to alter the mood rather than let their modd infiltrate my space. Sure, there’s holiday cheer but there’s also holiday stress and the best way to combat it is with kindness. It’s not easy and certainly tests your patience, but it’s kind of fun to change it up and notice the differences.

Farewell 2024

"Celebrate endings—for they precede new beginnings."

—Jonathan Huie

It’s been a long one with many blessings and many obstacles. A presidential election, a slower real estate market than we’ve been accustomed to the last decade. Some goals lost and some met, but a blank slate ahead to try again to get it right next year. I’m going to take some time to do nothing, relax, and focus on being present for the rest of this holiday season.

Thank you so much for following along this year and for all of the continued support as your trusted real estate advisor. Wishing you all and your families a very Happy New Year. See you in 2025!

"Be at war with your vices, at Peace with your neighbors, and let every New Year find you a better man."  —Benjamin Franklin
