November 2024: Thanksgiving 2024 “It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.”-Charles Spurgeon
I don’t know about you, but I am ready for the holidays. Election years are always wild and this year was no exception. I feel exhausted just thinking about it. Uncertainty in the markets, volatility in mortgage rates, and a lot of people on the sidelines waiting to see what’s going to happen. The thought of kicking back by the fire with a movie on and a drink in hand doesn’t sound half bad right about now! I can’t even begin to process that this year is almost over but with the holidays and relaxation mode within my sights, I am coming to grips with it. When you’re working towards building your future it’s easy to overlook your blessings in the present and some dedicated time to reflect is just what the doctor ordered.
We’re Already There, And We Don’t Even Know It Yet
“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.”
- Eckhart Tolle
Rather than just give thanks this year, I think we should all give ourselves some grace while we’re at it. The odds are that you’re your own biggest critic. Trying to meet goals and expectations when showing up and surviving can be challenging enough. If you’ve made it this far, you’re doing great. Simply and take in ordinary moments that are special because you are thankful for them.
Cheers!
“The most important thing in the world is family and love.”
- John Wooden
The time we get to spend with loved ones makes life worth living and having time that’s dedicated to that every year is essential. There’s a fine line between finishing the year strong and knowing when it’s time to punch the clock and call it a day. We’re not quite at clock punching time, but I can see it in the near distance. Only a few more weeks to go and the good times start now.
I am so thankful for family, friends, and all of you this year. Happy Thanksgiving!
